Uninterruptible Power Supply- Power Back Up for Your Homes and Offices

by

Article SubmitterThe electricity has become the life line of the home and the corporate world. Without the electricity the corporate world will suffer heavy monetary, work and data loss. Most of the corporate world depends heavily upon the computers for their valuable works. The Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is a life savior for the corporate world. Due to its ability for power backup, the corporate world relies heavily on it.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and its functions

The Uninterruptible Power Supply is a combination of batteries and the UPS instrument. These batteries provide AC current when the power gets cut off. Through these AC current produced, the equipments run smoothly despite the power cut. There are two types of UPS(s) namely offline UPS and online UPS. The online UPS is mostly preferred at the corporate sector. As the name suggests, the online UPS provides constant electric supply to the instruments of the offices, such as computers. The benefit of this type of uninterruptible power supply is that the data is not lost and the work resumes smoothly despite the power surge and cuts. The batteries of these types of UPS are connected directly with the main line, as a result, the batteries produce immediate electric supply when the power cut occurs.

The offline UPS is good for running the home appliances. This is because the electricity doesn’t start producing immediately with the power cuts. Hence the appliances turn off. You need to restart the appliances manually in this case. This UPS takes less load than its counterpart. The batteries of the offline UPS are not connected to the main circuit, hence it takes a while to detect the power cut and the production of the power from the battery of the UPS.

Ordering the UPS online

The Uninterruptible Power Supply can now be ordered online. The service men will come at your doorsteps and install the instrument at the time convenient to you. For more information on the matter kindly search the net. You can avail heavy discounts if you buy them online.

Anonymous people reveal animal cruelty at Australian Inghams poultry producer factory using CCTV footage

Thursday, March 21, 2013

Anonymous people submitted a video depicting employees of Inghams Enterprises, an Australian poultry producer, to Animal Liberation. The video displays animal cruelty at an Inghams plant in Tahmoor, Macarthur Region, south-west of Sydney. The video was recorded without the employees’ knowledge over a two-week period in February. Animal Liberation maintains that the footage is legitimate.

Spokesperson for Animal Liberation Emma Hurst stated to Sydney Morning Herald, “You can see a total disrespect of these animals. There are scenes where they’ve put the music up very, very loud, the workers are screaming, jumping about, dancing, picking up the turkeys, dancing while holding onto the turkeys, throwing them onto the shackles, and just that whole mentality as though these animals don’t have feelings, that they’re objects.”

Using CCTV, over 140 hours were recorded, depicting 136 incidences of animal cruelty as well as aggravated animal cruelty, resulting in the animals’ death or severe conditions. Ms. Hurst said, “Hanging upside down, their legs are already brittle, and we’ve got footage as well where their legs have actually ripped off from their bodies … and the legs have been tossed around.”

Animal Liberation and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) are again calling for the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in all Australian abattoirs. RSPCA New South Wales chief inspector David O’Shannessy told the ABC that surveillance and inspections of abattoirs should be commonplace in Australia. “The CCTV would certainly send a strong signal to those people working with animals that their welfare is of the highest priority.”

Inghams CEO Kevin McBain released a statement saying that an investigation had been launched into the “intolerable incidents”. “We condemn the animal abuse we have seen in the footage and will — as a matter of urgency — work to review, retrain and reinforce our animal welfare standards throughout our organisation”

The New South Wales Police and the New South Wales Food Authority are continuing to investigate the video.

What To Expect From Lemon Law Coverage For New Cars In California

Submitted by: Seomul Evans

Car buyers should be happy to note that there are a number of exercisable rights at their disposal, both state and local laws if in case the purchased cars did not perform as expected. These laws and regulations are subsumed in the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty act otherwise known as the Lemon Law .

Under the law, car buyers can find protection the moment they buy or lease new motor vehicles. The Consumer Warranty Act requires that the car manufacturer in a specific state, if unable to repair or service the vehicle to meet what was expressed in the warranty, should issue a replacement to the purchaser to the corresponding purchase price. Under the Song-Beverly Law, the purchase price that must be returned to the purchaser should include the price paid for the manufacturer-installed parts and accessories and also the transportation expense. But it should be noted that the price to be returned to the person should not include the price paid by the owner for non-OEM parts and accessories. The choice of whether to get a new car or the refund lies in the consumer. Whatever the choice of the consumer, it is expected that the manufacturer should include the payment for the sales or use tax, the license, registration and other attendant costs that the consumer has incurred.

This doesn t mean that the consumer is free from any form of obligation once it has been found out that the car is actually a lemon . The purchaser may be charged with a minimal amount as well, whether the option as to refund or the manufacturer will replace the said vehicle. The amount is determined by a formula. If for example the car has been used for 1,000 miles when this was first brought out to the car repair shop, then the formula used in computing for the charges against the purchaser is 0.08 percent (1000/12000=0.08 percent) of the purchase price for the use of the vehicle. This kind of computation will be used for the duration of the warranty. These kinds of arrangement in the form of refund and replacement will not be applicable if the vehicle has been abused.

Coverage for old vehicles

Owners of used cars should not be worried about not being covered by the law. The Song-Beverly Law has general rules and regulations that may apply to used and old vehicles. These general rules cover the motorcycles, mobile homes, used cards and even lemons that were sold and repurchased by consumers with warranty that covers the possible defects. But it should be kept in mind that the kind and the quality of coverage may not be similar to those for new cars. For example, there is no formula used in the computation of the amount that can be refunded by the consumer.

Validity of the lemon law claim

Before you can say that your claim on lemon is valid, you have to take into account three important things. First, the claim will only be valid if the vehicle leased or purchased is used for personal or business purposes. Also, the vehicle must also exhibit troubles that are explicitly covered by the warranty. Remember, in this law if there is no warranty then you have no solid lemon case . And more importantly, in order for that to be valid, the manufacturer should have failed in repairing the issue.

“Woofstock” dog festival in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

North America’s largest outdoor dog festival came back to Toronto last weekend for its fifth year. It ran from the 9th of June to the 10th of June at Toronto’s historical St. Lawrence Market. A Wikinews reporter was there on Sunday to report on some of the events that happened on the last day.

The “Woofstock” dog festival attracted as many as 140,000 people with their dogs. The festival had tons of accessories, sold under tents, to buy for dogs; food, toys, designer clothes, and more. About 400 vendors and exhibitors were there to promote their products, which also gave private dog companies or groups a chance to show their new products. The local SPCA and some animal rescues were under tents answering questions from visitors. While walking, all visitors could see the CN Tower and other very tall buildings.

One of the local TV stations, Citytv, was there. They hosted a live event at the show which was broadcast on TV. People came up on the stage and asked questions regarding their dogs and the host and co-host answered them.

A man, who called himself the “Chalk Master”, drew two pictures on pavement with chalk. He did it for free but donations were welcome. One was a picture of a girl’s head beside a dog’s head, and another with a wolf.

“Hello Humans. I’ve been invited here to provide your eyeball(s), with some pretty colours. I don’t get paid as I work this weekend strictly for tips… so, if you like what you see please make a DONATION. If you don’t like it simply reach into the pocket of the person next to you and give me their money. CHALK MASTER.”

A contest called “Canada’s top dog” had its own tent with a professional photographer taking pictures of dogs behind a white screen; the winning photo is to be published on the cover of “Puppy and dog basics” magazine.

Large “Gourmet” dog bones were also served from a cart and table.

Next year’s festival is expected to be bigger and better with even more attractions.

Australia men’s national wheelchair basketball team beat Japan 80-49 in final game of pool play

Saturday, July 21, 2012

Homebush Bay, New South Wales —Last night, the Australia men’s national wheelchair basketball team beat Japan 80–49 in their final game of pool play at the Rollers & Gliders World Challenge taking place at at the Sport Centre at the Sydney Olympic Park and are through to the first place match.

The contrast between the two teams was seen in their wheels: almost every Australian player had a four wheeled chair that gave them increased stability while every single Japanese player had three wheels, which gave them great maneuverability. Japan played the aggressor throughout the match, with several players aggressively blocking with wheelchair on wheelchair contact. Both sides were loud, chanting defense, defense, defense when their side was on that side of the court.

The first quarter was closely fought, with Japan racking up 5 by 5:54 left in the first. They successfully took a lead of 17–16 by the end of the first quarter. They were unable to hold the lead, with Australia holding a 40–24 lead at the end of the first half. Australia’s lead at the end of the third was 61–34. While Japan increased their total points in the fourth quarter, they failed to defend against Australia who continued to answer back basket for basket for the game to end 80–49.

Australia plays in the first place match later today. Their London Paralympic campaign starts on August 30 against South Africa.

Dental Implants

Submitted by: Dr. J.D. Murray

When people lose teeth, they don t have to have permanent gaps in their smile. People who have had accidents, diseases, or tooth decay can now erase the effects of these problems from their smile. They can have their dentist do some cosmetic reconstruction in the form of dental implants. Dental implants are a long lasting way to correct any smile.

Dental implants are an artificial way of recreating a lost tooth or teeth. Implants start with a titanium screw that is inserted into the jaw bone. During the procedure the gums are cut open to expose the bone. To insert the titanium screw or post, the dentist then drills a hole into the bone. Titanium is the metal of choice because it allows the surrounding bone to grow into and around it. The screw is left slightly rough and porous on the edges to encourage the jaw bone to attach to it. This is a vital part of the implant. Once the screw has been inserted, the gums are stitched together. The patient will be under anesthesia at the time to relieve discomfort and pain.

There is a healing process that takes some time. Bones don t regenerate over night, and in this case they are growing around a titanium screw. It can take several weeks or several months for implants to be fully anchored and ready to go. The crown will not be placed on the screw until the bone has grown around the screw to anchor it.

Once the screw has been securely imbedded into the patient s jaw bone, a crown or artificial tooth is attached to the top of the screw. Usually the dentist will put a temporary crown on initially. This is to allow the surrounding gum line sufficient time to adjust and grow in a natural manner around the new tooth. After the gums have healed and grown properly, the dentist will go back and replace the temporary tooth with a permanent one.

Sometimes the jaw bone doesn t have enough bone material to take an implant. In these circumstances the dentist can do a bone graft to try to help regenerate enough bone material to anchor an artificial tooth. In other cases, the bone rejects the screw. But, the implant can usually be tried again with better results.

Dental implants are used in any circumstance where a tooth has been lost. They are a great way to obtain a permanent fix. And they don t have the discomfort or difficulty associated with other artificial teeth such as dentures. Implants give greater comfort while chewing and greater confidence. They can also improve a person s ability to speak clearly.

Because dental implants are long lasting and a close representation to a natural tooth and root system, the patient will need to continue habits of good dental hygiene. A dental implant needs to be cared for like a natural tooth. This means brushing and flossing daily in addition to regular visits to the dentist. Artificial teeth still need constant plaque removal to maintain healthy gums and a healthy mouth.

Although the screw can last for the duration of a person s life, the artificial tooth on top is usually worn down by chewing and general usage. This part of the dental implant will likely have to be replaced at some point. But, with the screw already in place it is an easy fix.

Overall, dental implants are a great way for people to regain their perfect smile after the loss of a tooth or several teeth. Dental implants are long lasting and comfortable. But the best part of dental implants is that they look perfectly natural.

Colleges offering admission to displaced New Orleans students/AL-KY

See the discussion page for instructions on adding schools to this list and for an alphabetically arranged listing of schools.

Due to the damage by Hurricane Katrina and subsequent flooding, a number of colleges and universities in the New Orleans metropolitan area will not be able to hold classes for the fall 2005 semester. It is estimated that 75,000 to 100,000 students have been displaced. [1]. In response, institutions across the United States and Canada are offering late registration for displaced students so that their academic progress is not unduly delayed. Some are offering free or reduced admission to displaced students. At some universities, especially state universities, this offer is limited to residents of the area.

Hari Kostov resigns as prime minister of Macedonia

Monday, November 15, 2004

SKOPJE — Prime minister Hari Kostov of Macedonia has resigned from his position as of Monday, November 15. The Macedonian parliament will meet on Thursday to decide whether or not to accept his resignation.

The BBC quoted Kostov, who was appointed last May, to have said that “there is no will for genuine teamwork” within the coalition, and that one of the parties in the current government has been promoting corruption and nepotism. Kostov also claimed that the preoccupation with the rights of Albanian ethnic minority in Macedonia was obstructing economic modernization, according to Reuters. Kostov himself was not a member of any of the coalition’s parties.

Kostov’s resignation was preceded by a referendum organized by the Macedonian opposition, aimed against a decentralisation law which would have given the Albanian ethnic minority in Macedonia additional rights. The referendum was declared null and void due to a low turnout. According to the NOS, some now fear that fights between Albanian guerrillas and the Macedonian army, which came to a halt in 2001, will start again.

What Exactly Is An Exit Device In Suffolk County Ny?

byadmin

A property owner might be told that they need a new exit device in Suffolk County NY? They might get a quote on one, but how do they know it’s a fair price? After all, they might not even know exactly what an exit device is or what it does. Fortunately, it’s not too difficult to learn some basic information about what devices are.

What Is It?

An exit device in Suffolk County NY is something that is placed on doors that swing to the outside. It is used on the secure side of the door it is being used for. The main reason the device was invented was to help people safely exit a building during situations with a lot of panic. Prior to the use of exit devices, there were a lot of lives lost because people got pressed against closed doors.

Ratings

There are ratings for exit devices. Some devices are fire rated, while others are not rated for fire. The devices that are not rated for fire are less expensive than the ones that are and are installed on doors that are non-fire rated.

Devices that are fire rated will have a very noticeable label that will indicate the rating. A locksmith can help determine which type of exit device should be used for a door. Anyone who needs help can visit Ablelockshop.com.

Other Types

A person can also choose to have an exit device that has an alarm. When the device is used, the alarm is activated. Devices can be purchased for light commercial use, industrial use, and even based on how they make a property look. Some property owners are really concerned about how anything attached to their doors will look and affect the style.

Since they were introduced about a century ago, exit devices have come a long way. Locksmiths know all the ins and outs of exit devices and are equipped to repair and replace them. A property owner shouldn’t really try to install or repair an exit device on their own. The last thing they want is a device that doesn’t work as it was intended. You can also connect them on Facebook.
