Yesterday, it was revealed that a 64-year-old Dutch woman with severe dementia has become the first patient in the country to be euthanized after she became unable to consent. In the Netherlands, patients can request assisted dying if they are of sound mind. In this case, the woman — who is known to have been a long-time political supporter of assisted dying — signed a request for assisted dying while she was capable of doing so.
The woman was assisted to die in March according to Walburg de Jong, a spokesman for Right to Die-NL, a group that supports assisted dying. De Jong noted that it is an “important step” for euthanasia activists: “before, patients dying by euthanasia were at really very early stages of dementia, which was not the case with this woman”.
The Netherlands has had legal voluntary euthanasia since a change in the law which came into force in April 2002.

Some images that have been used to enhance an article of clothing range from a simple design on front of a T shirt to a famous printing that has been woven into fabric creating a colorful piece of art that one can wear. Fashion design is divided into two basic categories: haute couture and ready-to-wear. The haute couture collection is dedicated to certain customers and is custom sized to fit these customers exactly. Fashion designers have a good visual imagination and are able to think in three-dimensions and put their ideas into garments. Fashion designers have to be aware of the fashion market requirements. They have to be very interested in learning new things and read magazines, journals and books on fashion design history and new trends. They also have to be interested in art, visit art galleries and interact with all kinds of artists whenever they have the opportunity. A designer should also have some knowledge and experience of tailoring and be able to tell the difference between different fabric quality levels. Fashion design is influenced by cultural and social latitudes, and has varied over time and place. Fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories. Oxford, England – Today saw the first demonstration in support of Oxford University‘s new animal testing facility on South Parks Road. Around 600 students marched under the banner of PRO-test, an organisation set up several weeks ago in opposition to SPEAK, which campaigns and demonstrates frequently in the city for animal rights.
The demonstration began at 11:30am outside Balliol College on Broad Street, in the historic centre of the city, and (just before midday) marched along Holywell Street and Mansfield Road up towards South Parks Road. Police prevented the PRO-test demonstration from reaching the actual building site because of a SPEAK protest (around 150 people, according to Thames Valley Police[1]) which was occurring there at that time. The crowd was addressed[2] by neurosurgeon Tipu Aziz, Dr Simon Festing (executive director of the Research Defense Society), and Liberal Democrat MP Dr Evan Harris, amongst others.
Students demonstrated for different reasons, however. Some were obviously marching in favour of animal testing in order to further medical research, while others wanted to show solidarity with researchers and the university, who have been coming under increasing pressure from organisations such as the Animal Liberation Front (ALF).
Last year, the ALF claimed responsibility for its arson attack on the Long Bridges boathouse, and recently it put out a communiqué[3] stating that they “must target professors, teachers, heads, students, investors, partners, supporters and ANYONE that dares to deal in any part of the University in any way.” SPEAK and the ALF are separate organisations; the former campaigns peacefully, while the latter often uses tactics such as threatening letters, intimidation and criminal damage to further its cause. It should be noted, however, that in an interview for Sky News[4] on the 25th February, a spokeswoman for SPEAK refused to condemn their activities.
The PRO-test march returned back down Mansfield Road and Holywell Street (in order to avoid passing the SPEAK demonstration), and finished outside the Radcliffe Camera. After a few speeches, everyone dispersed, the demonstration having passed off peacefully, though there was an attempt by five SPEAK demonstrators to break through the police line. SPEAK activists continued to leaflet on Cornmarket Street, and marched down from outside the research lab into the centre around 2pm.

San Jose, California — A woman eating a bowl of chili at a Wendy’s restaurant bit into a chewy bit that turned out to be a human finger. She immediately spat it out, warned other patrons to stop eating, and upon recognizing the object as a finger, vomited.
“I’m more of a Carl’s Jr. person,” the 39-year-old Las Vegas woman, Anna Ayala, told Knight Ridder. She said this incident was her first visit to a Wendy’s restaurant. Ayala described how she found the finger, “Suddenly something crunchy was in my mouth,” she continued, “and I spit it out.”
According to Devina Cordero, 20, after Ayala found the finger, she ran up to her and Cordero’s boyfriend and said, “Don’t eat it! Look, there’s a human finger in our chili.”
“We went up to the counter and they told us it was a vegetable,” Cordero continued. “The people from Wendy’s were poking it with a spoon.”
The restaurant is located at 1405 Monterey Highway, just south of downtown San Jose.
Wikinews reporter David Vasquez drove his car up to the drive-thru menu and found that chili was still on the menu, at a price of US$1.19 for a small serving. He also witnessed workers unloading supplies from a semi-trailer truck in the restaurant’s parking lot, and carting them into the back door of the establishment.
According to Ben Gale, director of environmental health for Santa Clara County, the finger did not come from any of the employees at the restaurant. “We asked everybody to show us they have 10 fingers and everything is OK there,” he said. The found portion of the finger likely belonged to a woman because of its long and manicured fingernail, also found in the food.
Officials seized the food supply at the restaurant and are tracing it back to the manufacturer, where they believe the finger may have gotten mixed in with the raw ingredients used to prepare the chili. The restaurant’s operators were later permitted to re-open after preparing new chili prepared from fresh ingredients.
As this story was filed, there was no mention of the incident on the Wendy’s corporate web site. Wendy’s issued a statement through a spokesman.
“Food safety is of utmost importance to us,” said Wendy’s spokesman Joe Desmond. He referred to the incident as an “unsubstantiated claim.”
“We are cooperating fully with the local police and health departments with their investigation. It’s important not to jump to conclusions. Here at Wendy’s we plan to do right by our customers,” Desmond said.
According to county health officials, the unfortunate woman who bit into the finger is doing fine, despite her initial reaction. Officials also noted that the finger would have been cooked at a high enough temperature to destroy any viruses.
The Santa Clara county medical examiner reported that the finger had a solid fingerprint, although investigators did not say if a search of fingerprint databases would be performed to find the owner of the finger.

“18 hours of mass hysteria” (according to the Sunday Times of India) broke out last Friday in Mumbai as hundreds of residents flocked to Mahim Creek, one of the most polluted creeks in India that receives thousands of tonnes of raw sewage and industrial waste every day after reports that the salt water had suddenly turned “sweet”.
Television reports showed people drinking water on the spot with their hands, and others bathing, apparently to wash away their sins with the “holy” water.
At the height of the hysteria, bottled mineral water was selling for Rs 50 (RM4.50), with people buying the mineral water simply for the bottles, pouring away the mineral water and filling the bottles with water from the creek.
News reports of the Mahim Creek incident sparked further mass hysteria at Gujarat within hours, with residents there claiming that seawater at Teethal beach in Valsad had also turned sweet. About 400 people had gathered by the beach in the evening.
In the aftermath of the incident, local authorities stated that they were being were extra vigilant because of the possibility of a severe outbreak of water-borne diseases, such as gastroenteritis as a result of so many people drinking contaminated water. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board had warned people not to drink the water, but despite this many people had collected it in bottles, even as plastic and rubbish had drifted by on the current. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai had ordered a bacteriological report into the “sweet” water, but suspected that “contamination in the water might have been reduced due to the waters from Mithi River flowing into the mouth of Mahim Bay“.
By Saturday morning, the hysteria had died down, as the taste of the water had returned to normal.

A Tennessee politician has been criticised by Islamic groups and Islamic leaders by suggesting that Islam is a cult and is therefore ineligible for protection under the first amendment of the United States constitution, which guarantees freedom of religion.
Though Tennessee Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey, at a campaign stop in Chattanooga earlier in the month, said he’s “all about freedom of religion”, he also said that “[y]ou could even argue whether that being a Muslim is actually a religion, or is it a nationality, way of life, cult or whatever you want to call it”.
Lt. Gov. Ramsey had been asked about a proposed Islamic mosque and community centre that has been slated for construction in the town of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and also about the “threat that is invading our country from Muslims”.
Ramsey’s comments have been scrutinized by groups all over the country, while Ramsey’s rivals for the lieutenant governor position tried to avoid the controversy.
Ibrahim Hooper, national communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called Ramsey’s remarks “part of an unfortunate trend in our society” and part of “a disturbing trend in our nation in which it is suggested that American Muslims should have fewer or more restricted constitutional rights than citizens of other faiths.” Hooper also encouraged Ramsey to find people “who can offer him balanced and accurate information about Islam.”
Ramsey’s Republican rivals, U.S. Representative Zach Wamp and Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam, both tried to avoid the controversy about the cult comments. According to campaign spokesman Sam Edelen, Wamp declined to comment as he was “busy with voting”. Meanwhile Bill Haslam’s campaign spokesman Dave Smith stated in an e-mail that “The mayor’s faith is very important to him, and he respects the right of others to practice their faith, so long as they are respectful of the communities in which they live and the laws of the land.”
Later, Ramsey clarified his position by stating that he has “no problem — and I don’t think anyone in this country has a problem — with peace-loving, freedom-loving Muslims that move to this country and assimilate into our society.” However, Ramsey said he’s concerned that “far too much of Islam has come to resemble a violent political philosophy more than peace-loving religion. It’s time for American Muslims who love this country to publicly renounce violent jihadism and to drum those who seek to do America harm out of their faith community.”
According to the Council on American-Islamic Relations, there are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world and 7 million in the United States. The U.S. Religious Landscape Survey by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life has stated that there are 63,000 Muslims in Tennessee, or 1% of that state’s population.

Bank bailouts are the major way the monetary scientist socialist elite transfer debt and/or the responsibility for that debt to you and I, the taxpayers.
1913 was the year the Federal Reserve Bank, a cartel and a monopoly, was planned in secret to create a one-world-order. International bankers figured they will plunder the world via taxes, debt, inflation, bank bailouts and the farce of fiat currencies. Wars and even global warming were to be smokescreens for weakening the once strong America. Additionally, having the U.S. as policeman of the world and the major foreign aid source were also part of the plan. Congress formally passed the Federal Reserve Act in 1920 creating the central bank we now call the FED.
Since the U.S. was so strong back then, the rich bankers needed the cover of a private central bank to bring America down. What better cover for their conspiracy than a central bank with the name federal in it. Bank bailouts and corporate bailouts transfer the money the bankers had lent out over to the taxpayers. Bank bailouts are a fraud.
What a bunch of dummies we are to let them so easily take our freedoms. It has happened slowly and we hardly notice. Bank bailouts have been the main avenue for the advance of the one-world-order takeover by the power elite banksters. The “Big Brother” era will be here sooner than you think if we keep letting them do these corporate and bank bailouts. Each one is a guarantee of debt or a transfer of the debt over to the public sector. You and I and our children – the future taxpayers – get the bill.
The Fed is not federal, a reserve or a bank. It is not even subject to an audit or accountable to anyone. Who owns it? The shares are not traded on any exchange. It is a private corporation watering down our money with inflation. Now, after QE1 we get Ben Bernake starting QE2 (quantitative easing #2). This means the FED will buy large amounts of government bonds with just a computer entry. They don’t even need to put ink on paper to flood the country with stimulus. QE2 is projected to be 75 to 100 million dollars per month.
It won’t work. The de-leveraging of all the excess credit in the private sector and the price drops in assets like real estate are occurring too fast.
The U.S is now policeman and foreign aid giver of the world thanks to the Federal Reserve and socialist politicians. We fund bank bailouts and company bailouts (GM and Chrysler) left and right. Key leaders of both political parties have been in on this scheme.
Now, we will get deflation and the

Bank bailouts along with the bailouts of General Motors and Chrysler are bad news. The bill always gets paid by the taxpayers, you and I and our children. No wonder they are calling GM, “Government Motors.”
Governments worldwide are already stressed out. Some of the strongest European countries are implementing austerity measures and loaning money to tide the weaker countries over. Yes, more worldwide bank bailouts. This is nothing new. It has been going on for years with the help of “Big Brother” type organizations like the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. World government leaders should look at ways to reduce taxes and give a lift to business. Instead they are acting like snails and pulling back into their shell.
Portugal, Italy, Greece and Spain (PIGS) are reducing workers pay and pensions due to stress over 20% unemployment rates choking off tax revenue causing them to catch the bank bailouts disease. Now, even France is extending the age for retirement.
Five states in the U.S. are technically bankrupt. There is talk of requiring work for welfare. Yes! Do it! 41 million Americans are on food stamps. That number is up a whopping 45 percent since President Obama was elected. What’s up with that! Is it a new kind of farm subsidy? Big socialist government just does not work.
279 American Banks have failed in the last few years – the most since the 1930’s. The FDIC, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, has been privatized. You an I now become the insurers of last resort. That’s another one of the big bank bailouts. With government run insurance banks and lenders have no risk. Therefore they make unwise money decisions. Just look what happened to the Federal National Mortgage Association, Fannie Mae. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were GSE’s, government sponsored enterprises. With the federal government to back them up, they made unwise lending decisions leading to bankruptcy. Now, you and I own them. It’s just another one history’s bank bailouts.
Obamacare putting 20 per cent of our economy under government control is a bailout. It will be the ‘straw that broke the camels back.’ There will be a lot of health care rationing. Don’t let them fool you. Reduced tax revenue due to the business slow down and more people on the system will mandate rationing. This will lead to long lines, long waits and denial of service because of age. All because of the economic reality of reduced tax revenues coming in to government coffers in the
