Today, it was announced that Syd Barrett, the founding member of British rock band Pink Floyd died from a complication with diabetes. According to a Pink Floyd spokeswoman, he died days earlier (July 7) but the announcement was withheld. “He died peacefully at home. There will be a private family funeral in the next few days,” said his brother Alan Barrett. “The band are naturally very upset and sad to learn of Syd Barrett’s death. Syd was the guiding light of the early band line-up and leaves a legacy which continues to inspire,” noted a statement issued by Pink Floyd.
During 1967-1968, Syd Barrett was considered to be the main member and songwriter of Pink Floyd. However, due to mental illness, he was forced to leave the band after recording only one album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Barrett had since been a recluse. Pink Floyd recorded Wish You Were Here as a tribute following Barrett’s leave. The album features Shine On You Crazy Diamond, with lyrics explicitly about Barrett’s rise to fame and subsequent dissolution.

The time will likely come when your company is in need of office data storage in Madison WI. This storage may be needed for a wide variety of items, including databases and spreadsheets, as this type of data is the backbone of many businesses. The applications used to keep your business up and running take up space. Therefore you need to move this information elsewhere, and a data storage solution will likely be the best option. Why is this need increasing for so many businesses?
The government continues to impose new regulations on businesses. These regulations often require the business to maintain and backup data that in the past would have been deleted. In addition, companies are now finding they need to store email messages for five years or more, for various legal reasons. Of course, one cannot discount the importance of backing up files, as hackers continue to find new ways to get into systems that once appeared to be secured. As technology advances, new software and operating systems require more space, which can also lead to the need for data storage. Regardless of why a company feels they need to consider this option, the key is to find the right storage provider.
To find the right storage solution, companies must determine the amount of data being collected. Once this information has been obtained, the company must then figure out when, where and how the data is accessed. The data storage provider must be able to offer a solution that allows the data to be easily accessed. Although a small business may be able to collect this information on a flash drive or external hard drive, companies that collect a large amount of data will need to consider other options.
When an outside provider is needed for Office Data Storage in Madison WI as the company can no longer handle this task internally, many choose to work with Rhyme. This company assists clients in need of office equipment, office supplies, IT services and more and offers a range of storage solutions to meet the needs of the client. With the help of this provider, companies find they have the answer they have been searching for and data at their fingertips when they need it most. It’s the perfect combination for any business today.

Apple Inc. today has introduced the much-anticipated iPhone at the Macworld Conference in San Francisco.
The iPhone is claimed to be “a revolutionary mobile phone” as stated on the Apple website. The device appears to be running a mobile version of the Apple operating system Mac OSX. It is approximately the same size as a 5th generation iPod, it has a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen display that is used to access all features of the phone including number dial, as well as making phone calls. The iPhone plays music, movies, displays pictures and is able to connect to a wireless network.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the device by walking onto the stage and taking the iPhone out of his jeans pocket. During his 2 hour speech he stated that “Today Apple is going to reinvent the phone, We are going to make history today”.
Today Apple also released their Media Center device – Apple TV. It will directly compete with Microsoft’s Media Center operating system. Apple has taken a different approach to the media center market; rather than storing content (such as movies, music and photos) on the device, Apple TV connects to a computer (Mac and Windows) over a wirless network connection and plays all content stored on that computer. This makes it substantially easier for users to organize their media content.

Bolton Wanderers won the Lancashire derby with Wigan Athletic, 3-1, at the DW Stadium. The win moves Bolton out of the relegation places in the Premier League table and into 17th. This is Bolton’s first win since the first game of the season against QPR, a run of six successive defeats.
The first half started with a Bolton goal. Nigel Reo-Coker scored from a Chris Eagles cross on the 4th minute. Bolton continued their good start with a Darren Pratley shot being saved by Wigan goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi. Wigan’s Mohamed Diame equalized on the 40th minute with a curling effort into the top corner. Bolton went back in front in first half injury time, David N’Gog shot low to Al Habsi’s right.
Bolton had the first chance of the second half, Martin Petrov forcing a Wigan save. Wigan dominated most of the second half, Emmerson Boyce, Hugo Rodallega and Victor Moses all having chances. Bolton had a penalty on the 72nd minute but Al Habsi saved it. Bolton wrapped up the victory in injury-time when Eagles pounced on a Wigan mistake and drilled a low shot past Al Habsi.

A very desirable feature in a home, especially in warmer climates, is a swimming pool. If you have a home that currently doesn’t have a swimming pool, and you want to install one at your home, you’ll probably want to find a place that offers the Best Swimming Pools around. The problem is the best swimming pool can be a subjective term. Fortunately, there’s a few things you can do to ensure that you get the best swimming pool that your money can buy.
As mentioned earlier, opinions on swimming pools are subjective. For that reason, you’ll want to have a very good idea as to what type of pool you’re looking for. Perhaps you’re looking for something that is very simple and symmetrical. Maybe the landscaping in your backyard is very basic and very minimal. In these cases, you’ll want a pool to fall into that design scheme rather than having something elaborate and having it stick out like a sore thumb. For some people, simple equates to the best swimming pool their money can buy.
If you want to energize your backyard with a fun and decorative pool area, then something with a bit more character should suffice. Whether you’re looking for a large size pool with various different shapes or you’re looking for water features integrated into the pool design, you can typically have all of this and more. The fact that you need to keep in mind is that these types of designs can be very expensive. What’s more, an in ground swimming pool is going to be more costly than an above ground option, regardless of how elaborate it is. However, the more detailed the design is, the more money you can expect to spend on the pool overall.
As you can see, the Best Swimming Pools can be different from one person to another. That’s why understanding what you want ahead of time will help you make the right decision in terms of the type of pool that you have installed in your yard. Fortunately, with standard pool designs as well as customized features, virtually anything you could possibly want you can have, as long as you have the money to pay for it.

U.S. Representative Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R–CA) pled guilty today to conspiring to take bribes in exchange for using his influence as a member of the House Appropriations Committee to help a defense contractor get business. In total he pled guilty to one count of income tax evasion and four counts of conspiracy, namely mail fraud, wire fraud, bribery of public official and accepting bribes. U.S. District judge Larry A. Burns scheduled Cunnigham to be sentenced on February 27. He is facing up to 10 years in prison and nearly $500,000 in fines, as well as forfeiture of unspecified amounts of cash and property.
In the court hearing, Cunningham admitted to accepting “bribes in exchange for performance of official duties” between “the year 2000 and June of 2005”, taking “both cash payments and payments in kind” and following up by “trying to influence the Defense Department”.
The federal investigation against Cunningham was triggered by his sale of his California residence to defense contractor Mitchell Wade in late 2003. However, Wade never moved in and sold the house at a $700,000 loss three quarters of a year later. At the same time Wade’s company MZM won tens of millions of dollars in defense contracts. Subsequent investigations discovered more questionable business transactions, including interactions with the defense contractor ADCS. In his plea agreement he testified that, among other charges, he “demanded, sought and received at least $2.4 million in illicit payments and benefits from his co-conspirators in various forms, including cash, checks, meals, travel, lodging, furnishings, antiques, rugs, yacht club fees, boat repairs and improvements, moving expenses, cars and boats.”
Cunningham announced his resignation after the hearing. In a written statement released by his law firm O’Melveny & Myers LLP he declared “The truth is — I broke the law, concealed my conduct, and disgraced my high office. I know that I will forfeit my freedom, my reputation, my worldly possessions, and most importantly, the trust of my friends and family.”

The Virology Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) in Bratislava was severely damaged by fire. The flames reportedly reached as high as one hundred meters. The fire most likely started from the gas tank used for oxy-fuel welding during the building’s restoration process, SAS speaker Viera Rosová said.
Firefighters from all Bratislava fire-stations took part in the fire-fighting operation. The situation was complicated by dense smoke, necessitating the use of gas masks.
Thanks to a quick evacuation of SAS employees and construction workers, none were injured. However, some equipment of the top-level scientific facility was damaged and various research projects will be affected as well, Rosová admitted. The “software unit containing information of incalculable value” was rescued in time, reports say.
There is no danger of toxic spills or leak of viruses. The micro-biotic organisms studied in the institute are safely stored and infected animals were not held in this building. The institute owns about two thousand animals. The virology samples will be destroyed as the coolers went out of service after the power supply was cut for security reasons during fire-fighting. The SAS vice-chairman Albert Beier estimated the value of the cooler boxes to be close to two million Euros. “They often contain a life-long work of our researchers,” he added.

There are frequently times when a business will find itself in the midst of an unprecedented amount of growth and need to erect a massive sign over a nearby highway overpass. Or, the owner of a large car park may suddenly find that the lighting is not sufficient and will need to install a further twelve lighting fixtures overhead. There can even be instances when a recent storm has blown through and a number of trees are blocking major highway routes. These are a handful of reasons why supplying crane trucks to Virginia businesses is such a valuable service. So, let us take a brief look at the advantages that can be found when renting these trucks.
Cost Effective

The most obvious benefit of crane trucks for hire is the fact that purchasing one of these massive vehicles is often impossible for a company on a limited budget. Also, what would be the use of purchasing an entire vehicle for a one-off project? Instead, trucks can normally be rented by the day, week or month. In other words, they can be used as may be necessary and should the work be carried out quickly, a great deal of money can be saved; this being of particular interest for businesses in rural areas of Virginia that may only now be emerging from what has proven to be a protracted recession. Time equals money and renting crane trucks in Virginia can save both!
Quality Maintenance
Of course, very few individuals are aware of the safety and maintenance features that need to be addressed in crane trucks and other such vehicles. Even if one does, on-site maintenance can often times be expensive and time consuming. When a truck is hired directly from a company, the customer can rest assured in the knowledge that all safety features have been checked and double checked. Why is this so important? The answer is simple: correctly maintained vehicles will offer levels of safety for workers and any pedestrians that are located nearby. This is all but essential in today’s world.
A Wide Variety
It should be obvious that different crane trucks in Virginia and other locations will serve different purposes. Above all, varying heights can be chosen from. Some will have a boom that reaches twenty feet into the air while others will provide high-rise capabilities that will allow safe access to much higher areas. This is another point that should not be overlooked.
There are indeed a number of crane trucks Virginia has to offer.
